Energy & Cleantech Success Stories

€6 Million

Horizon Europe: Research and Innovation Action

Digitalised value management for Circular Manufacturing Systems

The DiCiM project will demonstrate integrated digital solutions in four use cases in three industrial sectors (white goods, electronics and automotive) representing over two-thirds of the European Economy.

The project aim is to enable the reuse of products, parts and materials in these sectors.

€7.5 Million

Horizon Europe: Research and Innovation Action

Unlocking Europe’s potential in critical raw materials

The AGEMERA project will perform local geological and geophysical surveys to map critical raw material resources in six EU Member States and Zambia.

The project will exploit a broad range of data to enhance the genetic mineral system models of deposits that contain critical raw materials, such as lithium and cobalt.

€3.7 Million

Horizon Europe: Research and Innovation Action

Saving forests to protect people and planet

The SWIFTT project will provide a scientifically sound and technically feasible way to help monitor and manage forest risks.

The project will enable forest managers to adapt to climate change with affordable, simple and effective remote sensing tools backed up by machine learning models.

SusPhos Logo

€12.5 Million

Horizon Europe: EIC Accelerator

First economically-viable process for phosphate recovery

SusPhos converts phosphorus-rich waste streams, e.g., sewage sludge ashes (SSA) and struvite, into phosphoric acid used in the fertiliser and flame retardant industries and chemicals for wastewater treatment and the construction industry.

Their solution creates Europe's independent supply of phosphorus.

Skeleton Technologies Logo
Skeleton Technologies

€3.6 Million

Horizon 2020: SME Instrument

Global technology leader in supercapacitor energy storage, enabling electrification and reducing CO2 emissions

Skeleton Technologies ultracapacitors, a graphene-based energy storage solution, offer high power density (30% more than batteries), are extremely reliable in different conditions (-40°C to 65°C), and are constructed from abundant materials that can be recycled easily.

They work with some of the largest companies in the world - from leading Tier One automotive firms and industrial equipment OEMs to truck fleet operators and aerospace prime contractors.

Plant-e Logo

€3.6 Million

Horizon Europe: EIC Accelerator

The world's only company harvesting energy from living plants without harming them

Plant-e developed electrodes that collect electricity naturally produced by living plants as a by-product of photosynthesis.

Their technology enables capturing up to 2 kg of CO2 per 1 kWh produced.

Naco Technologies Logo
Naco Technologies

€10.3 Million

Horizon Europe: EIC Accelerator

Nano-coating process to empower the green hydrogen revolution

Naco Tech engineers a breakthrough proprietary high-speed ion-plasma magnetron sputtering technology (HMS) that enables efficient application of various types of coatings.

Their solution stands out with better coating quality which doubles the lifespan of electrolysers, reducing usage on scarce metals by up to 10x, and ultimately lowering the costs of green hydrogen.

Modvion Logo

€2.4 Million

Horizon 2020: SME Instrument

Making wind power sustainable by decreasing steel dependency

Modvion develops modular wind turbine towers from laminated timber. The solution solves current towers’ primary complications while enabling simplified transport and mounting of high towers.

Technology enabling decreased carbon footprint–wooden turbine tower lifetime emissions are 90% lower than steel ones.

Insolight Logo

€2.5 Million

SERI: Accelerator Grant

Reimagining photovoltaics for optimal energy production & agriculture applications

Insolight brings to market novel solutions to efficiently combine solar electricity production and benefit agriculture.

Their solar modules are highly efficient and allow for instant adjustment of the transmitted light, enabling optimised crop production and electricity production.
